The Nizhny Novgorod Theater Arts Center is an independent theater in Nizhny Novgorod. It was founded in September 2016 at the initiative of two talented local residents, Evgeniy Pykhtin and Alexander Suchkov. Evgeniy Pykhtin is the winner of the "Top 50. The most famous people of Nizhny Novgorod", hosted by Sobaka.ru Nizhny Novgorod magazine in the "Art" category in 2016, the "Theater" category in 2019, as the writer and producer of the play "Geroi Sredi Nas" ("Heroes Among Us") in 2021; winner of the Nizhny Novgorod Award, an actor of the Comedy Theater. Alexander Suchkov is an honored Artist of Russia, teacher, director, actor of Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Drama Theater named after M. Gorky.
The Theater Arts Center is the first independent professional theater in Nizhny Novgorod, which has its own venue that brings together chamber theaters of the city. Unique design of the place and transforming halls allows them to carry out the most ambitious director's ideas and experiments. The Theater Arts Center has brought to life a number of social and cultural projects of local and national significance: International School-Laboratory "Linii Teatra" ("Lines of Theater"); Sociocultural project "Geroi Sredi Nas" ("Heroes Among Us") with ordinary citizens taking part in the production of plays; "Linii Teatra" ("Lines of Theater") laboratory in partnership with the studio "Tihaya" ("Silent") - performances in the urban environment, "Bespridannitsa. Pokayanie"("Without a Dowry. Penance"), a multi-genre performance in the center of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin (in partnership with the dreamlaser team); Site-specific audio performance "Pogruzhenie Promenade"("Immersion Promenade"); All-Russian Festival of Independent Theaters "Teatralnaia Strelka".
Theater Studio Otdykhai! is one of the best student theaters in Russia. The performances staged by the theater are rather diverse: variety sketches, pantomimes, experimental director's performances. But there is always a common feature - even the most serious and intense ideas are presented in an easy and comprehensible manner. The theater was founded 25 years ago, but despite its respectable age, it's going strong. It is in constant search of new concepts and ideas.
The theater is a laureate of various district, Russian and international theatre festivals, such as the Theater Revolution Festival, IKARIADA Competition, Minuta Slavy Competition, the Russian Student Spring Festival.
Tikhaya Studio is an innovative art center that also serves as an exhibition hall, and a research center and a meeting place for friends. Nine permanent artists - Alexander Lavrov, Lena Lisitsa, Anton Morokov, Andrey Olenev, Artem Filatov, Vladimir Chernyshev, Yakov Horev, Seva and Yegor from Komanda TOY, and three guest artists - Ivan Belov, Alexey Starkov and Nikita Perumov - are currently working here.
In April 2022, a major renovation of the building was completed and it became the new home for the Tikhaya crew. So now, a stone's throw from the Kremlin and the main city square, there is a 380-square-meter yard that houses the old workshops and new art workshops, exhibitions and art storage facilities.

Byt, a ne Kazatsia (To be, rather than to seem) is a film released for the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. It shows places that every Nizhny Novgorod resident would recognize and local memes they would understand: the Spit of Nizhny Novgorod, located at the confluence of the Oka and Volga rivers, the famous shawarma, traditional wooden architecture, stories of local programmers and workers of GAZ automotive manufacturer. The film consists of 8 sketches of things to be proud of in the city right now.
More than 100 people took part in the production of the film, including the Nizhny800 team: Artem Dertev and Artem Meshcheryakov — screenwriters, Vasily Gubin and Victoria Kovalchuk — directors, Vladimir Lutaenko, Ilya Ginzburg, Yana Savinova, Vlad Galkova — producers, Demyan Romanyuk — art directors, Sergey Zhigalov — cameraman, Anna Bashtova — costume design, Dmitry Emelyanov — composer. The film reached the 1 million mark on YouTube.
Torum Ash Latin is an online translator of the Mansi language. The idea of starting the project came up in 2018. Three years later, it took shape in the form of a functioning translation service. The database of the service refers to the Russian-Mansi Dictionary by Rombandeeva and Kuzakova, featuring more than 5000 words. It now runs in a test mode. It will soon be piloted in collaboration with educational organizations, focused on native language studies.
The app is now available on the App Store and Google Play. The app supports two color modes and two voice-over options - male and female. The developers also plan to add illustrations for each word. In 2022, the project was recognized as the best practice in preserving ethnшc languages by the United Nations. Totan Kuzembaev Architectural Workshop specializes in crafting exquisite one-story buildings, featuring a frame constructed from pine logs. Tundra is animation studio founded in the summer of 2022 by Alexander Okhlopkov, who previously collaborated with Universal, Disney, Netflix and Nickelodeon. The studio team won the Grand Prix and the grand prize in the category "Creative Industries Technologies in Innovative Projects" at the Skolkovo Foundation Startup Tour for their collection of animated films depicting the Yakut winter. They are actively developing the animation industry in the Sakha Republic.
The studio made their first short 3D animated film "Tymnyy Oghuha" (translated from Yakut as "The Bull of Cold"), based on Yakut mythology. A wholesome story about the friendship of the boy Ayaal and the old man Bүokke. The action takes place in the very heart of the Yakut winter. The film explores the legends and tales of the native people, reminds us of the folklore and traditions of Yakutia and keeps them on the screen. The studio plans to expand on the universe, which began with the characters and setting in "The Bull of Cold", making an entire collection of short animated films depicting the Yakut winter and related traditions and legends. The goal of the studio is to bring the unique culture of the peoples of the North into the world of animation and to promote the animation industry in Yakutia.
