













The Art World is an international art exhibition. It is held by the Luna Art Gallery and the Nizhny Novgorod Fair since 2016. The gallery features more than 10 500 works by more than 200 artists from 45 cities of Russia and around the world: paintings, graphic art, sculptures,as well as antiques and recycled art. Online conferences, lectures, film screenings, a charity auction, jazz and classical music live concerts and free guided tours are scheduled as part of the exhibition. Here you can watch the stages of the creative process and personally communicate with the artists.
At the 2023 exhibition, socially significant projects were presented: the exhibition "Osoznanost" ("Awareness"), focusing on recycling, the installation "Les" ("Forest") concerning forest conservation. More than 40 thousand people attended the exhibition.


The Nizhny Novgorod Theater Arts Center is an independent theater in Nizhny Novgorod. It was founded in September 2016 at the initiative of two talented local residents, Evgeniy Pykhtin and Alexander Suchkov. Evgeniy Pykhtin is the winner of the "Top 50. The most famous people of Nizhny Novgorod", hosted by Sobaka.ru Nizhny Novgorod magazine in the "Art" category in 2016, the "Theater" category in 2019, as the writer and producer of the play "Geroi Sredi Nas" ("Heroes Among Us") in 2021; winner of the Nizhny Novgorod Award, an actor of the Comedy Theater. Alexander Suchkov is an honored Artist of Russia, teacher, director, actor of Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Drama Theater named after M. Gorky.
The Theater Arts Center is the first independent professional theater in Nizhny Novgorod, which has its own venue that brings together chamber theaters of the city. Unique design of the place and transforming halls allows them to carry out the most ambitious director's ideas and experiments. The Theater Arts Center has brought to life a number of social and cultural projects of local and national significance: International School-Laboratory "Linii Teatra" ("Lines of Theater"); Sociocultural project "Geroi Sredi Nas" ("Heroes Among Us") with ordinary citizens taking part in the production of plays; "Linii Teatra" ("Lines of Theater") laboratory in partnership with the studio "Tihaya" ("Silent") - performances in the urban environment, "Bespridannitsa. Pokayanie"("Without a Dowry. Penance"), a multi-genre performance in the center of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin (in partnership with the dreamlaser team); Site-specific audio performance "Pogruzhenie Promenade"("Immersion Promenade"); All-Russian Festival of Independent Theaters "Teatralnaia Strelka".

The Foodhall Port is an area where various food vendors come together, providing a common area where customers can serve themselves, choosing whatever they want to eat. The food court is open to the public. It’s a meeting place where you’ll find a variety of restaurants and bars, parties and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. An area of 1000 square meters accommodates 5 food-zones, 4 bars, a coffee shop, a stage, an LED screen, a summer veranda and food trucks. During the day, it is a place for a relaxing family vacation, in the evening — it hosts noisy parties with music from the best DJs in town.
The menu caters to every taste: there’s street food, Asian food, pizza and pasta, mini-kebabs cooked on the Robata Japanese grill. In the center of Port, there is a round bar, where under the guidance of chief-barkeeper Dmitry Pomozov the guests are offered classic and signature cocktails. The Foodhall opened in one of the former manufacturing facilities in the spring of 2022 and is a place of attraction for young and creative people.


Tikhaya Studio is an innovative art center that also serves as an exhibition hall, and a research center and a meeting place for friends. Nine permanent artists - Alexander Lavrov, Lena Lisitsa, Anton Morokov, Andrey Olenev, Artem Filatov, Vladimir Chernyshev, Yakov Horev, Seva and Yegor from Komanda TOY, and three guest artists - Ivan Belov, Alexey Starkov and Nikita Perumov - are currently working here.
In April 2022, a major renovation of the building was completed and it became the new home for the Tikhaya crew. So now, a stone's throw from the Kremlin and the main city square, there is a 380-square-meter yard that houses the old workshops and new art workshops, exhibitions and art storage facilities.

Byt, a ne Kazatsia (To be, rather than to seem) is a film released for the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. It shows places that every Nizhny Novgorod resident would recognize and local memes they would understand: the Spit of Nizhny Novgorod, located at the confluence of the Oka and Volga rivers, the famous shawarma, traditional wooden architecture, stories of local programmers and workers of GAZ automotive manufacturer. The film consists of 8 sketches of things to be proud of in the city right now.
More than 100 people took part in the production of the film, including the Nizhny800 team: Artem Dertev and Artem Meshcheryakov — screenwriters, Vasily Gubin and Victoria Kovalchuk — directors, Vladimir Lutaenko, Ilya Ginzburg, Yana Savinova, Vlad Galkova — producers, Demyan Romanyuk — art directors, Sergey Zhigalov — cameraman, Anna Bashtova — costume design, Dmitry Emelyanov — composer. The film reached the 1 million mark on YouTube.


The Vasari Festival is Russia’s only festival of texts about art. Since 2014, it has been held in early fall, traditionally in Nizhny Novgorod. During the festival, a book fair is held, accompanied by a program of readings, meetings, seminars, round tables, presentations and film screenings. The festival was attended by academic institutions, publishing houses, magazines and TV programmes, covering classical and contemporary art. The festival is named after the Italian painter and writer Giorgio Vasari of Arezzo.
He was the first art historian. He wrote a comprehensive "competition" of texts on the work of artists of his time. Each year one of the art movements is selected. Then, texts, reports, lectures, and already published books on the subject, are picked. An almanac is published based on the results. The festival is included in the top of Russian cultural events.
